Wilmington Professional Group at North Kerr Spalon

It was a gorgeous day in Wilmington, perfect for the Wilmington Professional Group's networking event/cookout at North Kerr Spalon's new location on North Kerr Avenue. Below three of the four Wilmington Professional Group's organizers, Sandy Powell of North Kerr Spalon, Neal Whitington of Zutu Marketing, and Arian Kelley of PrePaid Legal greet arrival Fred Kumpel of Stickland's Window Coverings.

Accupuncturist Kris Peterson

I met David Harrison of Pre-Paid Legal - we had a nice chat about market niches and deciding the best ways to help people. Here David is with Rick Huston of Insphere Insurance Solutions. Rick and I talked a bit about using short video clips to convey vital information (see our less-than-vital short clip below).

Klif Kinnamon, a man of few words, from Zutu Marketing.

Next Media's Austin Thomas, personal trainer Dee Whitington, and Nsalo Salon stylist Melissa Kinnamon.

Here's the clip Rick and I shot. Using video on blogs and websites is becoming increasingly common as a way to communicate your message (even if your message is that using video is becoming increasingly common).

Carillon Assisted Living Business After Hours

Carillon Assisted Living of Southport recently joined the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce so you know what happened, right? We had a ribbon cutting and they hosted this month's Business After Hours!

Wilmington Professional Group at Past, Present, Future Digital 4-14-10

Yesterday's weather wasn't quite as stunningly beautiful as the rest of the week, but that didn't stop harm the turnout at the Wilmington Professional Group's outdoor networking event at Josh Caine's Past Present Future Digital.

Below co-host T. Neal Whittington made sure everyone had what they needed.

Stephanie Willliams of Edward Jones was the sponsor for the event. That's Stephanie below, the blond woman with the gray top. You can also see behind and in front of the table (to the right of Neal) Sandy Powell, Hair Color Specialist of North Kerr Spalon & WPG Event Coordinator (waving hello with a big smile), entrepreneur Arian Kelley, Jon Hicks of Ethos Design, and accupuncturist Kris Peterson.

Another person who always has a smile is Thornton Burgess of Jubilee Snooze and Cruise - the B&B on a 45 foot yacht.

Eleazar Herrera and Manual Lopez both of Ethos. Manual's the one bustin' a move.

So, with no moves going on, here are Manual, Jon, an Eleazar.

Funny how you can always pick David Merrill out in a crowd. I guess it's because of his height?

And Michael Byrd of Wordwright Web is a standout because he's always nattily attired with shirt, tie, and pleated pants.

Three favs in this shot, Stylist Supreme Melissa Kinnamon (of Nsalo Salon), her spouse Klif Kinnamon of Zutu Marketing, and, making his approach from the background, Ken Schiess of HdVest.

It was a good time. Thanks to all, especially Josh, Sandy, Arian, and Neal for organizing and hosting the event. And Stephanie, thanks for putting on the generous spread!

Strictly Business at Wrightsville Grille 4-14-10

Who are these guys in shirts and ties and why are they standing on a sidewalk outside a restaurant on a sunny day in coastal North Carolina?

Oh yeah, that's right they're Steve Haughey of Worldwide Express, Joe Catennaci, Derek Sellers, and Russ Hauptmann of Sea-Comm Media and they're getting ready for Strictly Business with The Big Talker-FM at Wrightsville Grille in Wilmington, North Carolina, quite close to Wrightsville Beach.

Patricia Pietropaolo of Permanent Makeup by Patricia and her husband John of the New Hanover Metro Treatment Center were among the early arrivals.

Rachael Hickerson, owner of Roots Organic Hair Salon and Jackie Jordan of Sea-Comm Media.

Mark Johnson of BuffMasters Car Wash and Detailers.

Wrightsville Grille laid out a nice selection of appetizers and kept 'em coming.

David Merrill of Hertz Local (and, incidentally, the creator of http://wilmingtonnetworkingevents.com) with Joe Catennaci.

Sea-Comm's Derek Sellers - I think Patricia must have given him a permanent smile at some point, because he's always smiling.

Susan Rivenbark with David Merrill.

Master tile setter Ben Brumsey of Brumsey Tile & Marble with Kimberly Ott Brumsey of KB Organic Skin Care.

As I was leaving for another event I saw but didn't have a chance to speak to Nick Kentrolis, owner of nearby Crest Fitness.

Another good turnout in another great place. And, as usual, it was "strictly business" - even though it may look like people hanging out in a bar, this is the most business-getting-done networking event in the area.
