Drink Beer to Save the Cape Fear!
So here's the official press release from FSB's Marketing Manager Ellie Craig:
"Wilmington, NC. Friday, June 05, 2009 – Front Street Brewery and Cape Fear River Watch are teaming up and Drinking Beer to Save the Cape Fear. On Thursday, June 11th at 6pm, this fundraising event kicks off with the release of Front Street Brewery’s Organic Hefeweizen, an organic wheat beer made by FSB’s Head Brewer, Kevin Kozak. Each season, a portion of sales from every organic beer poured will go toward Cape Fear River Watch and the awareness and sustainability of a living species in the lower Cape Fear River.
This season, FSB and CFRW are raising funds to boost awareness for the Cape Fear River sturgeon fish population, which has declined rapidly over the course of the last few years. Cape Fear River Watch has committed itself to the long term task of preserving and restoring fish populations to the entire Cape Fear River. A major component of this mission will be the establishment of large scale rock weirs at the three lock and dam combinations along the river. CFRW is reaching out to work with the Army Corps of Engineers, NC Wildlife Resource Commission, NC DENR, and US Fish and Wildlife Service on this mission. Front Street Brewery is proud to be the latest team to join this list.
